Fountainhead Art Foundation
I received a private invitation to attend a breakfast with artists and the head of the Fountainhead Art Foundation at his private home. I cannot express the happiness I felt, surrounded by art and artists. The owner gave us a private tour of his art-filled house, including the art made by his talented young son, which I singled out in the basement. What a wonderful experience! i felt very thankful for this opportunity. It was a bit difficult to get there because the Uber taxi insisted the satellite said we had arrived when in fact we were still a few houses away and the actual house did not have any identifying numbers on it. At the end of the tour, I lingered on, eating my heart's content of chocolate-filled pastries and coffee. Surprise! the cake with letters in pink icing saying "I Love U" in the kitchen is not a cake at all, it's a sculpture!
There was no internet connection to ask for a taxi so I started chatting up whoever came out to see where they were heading and had the good fortune of being given a free ticket to enter PINTA, the Latin American art tent. I hitched a ride with an art rep and an artist who had arrived from New York with an express commission for a huge painting at Scope. So all in all, a very happy morning! After visiting a few more private showings in Wynwood, I headed to my two favorite art tents, Pulse and Context, for a wonderful afternoon/evening filled with more beautiful and engaging artwork (photos of which I already posted).

Recibí una invitación privada para ir a un desayuno con artists en la casa del director de Fountainhead Art Foundation. No puedo expresar la felicidad que sentí, al estar rodeada de arte y artistas. El dueno nos dio un tour privado de si hogar repleto de arte, incluyendo el arte realizado por su talentoso hijo menor, que yo encontré por mi cuenta en el sótano. !Qué experiencia tan maravillosa! Me senti muy agradecida por esta oportunidad. Fue un poquitod difícil llegar hasta alli debido a que el taxista del Uber insistía que el satélite decía que habíamos llegado cuando de hecho estábamos a unas casas de distancia y la casa no tenía números que la identificara. Al final del tour, me quedé en la cocina, disfrutando los croissants de chocolate y el café. !Sorpresa! La torta con letras escritas en glaseado en rosado "I Love U" en la cocina no es una torta... es una escultura!
Yo no tenía conexión de internet en mi celular para poder pedir un taxi así que comencé a charlar con todas las personas que salían para preguntarles adonde se dirigían y tuve la buena fortuna de recibir una entrada gratis para PINTA, la carpa de arte latinomericano. conseguí un aventón con un representante de arte y un artista que habían llegado de Nueva York con una comisión expresa de hacer una pintura de gran formato para Scope. En total, un comienzo de día muy feliz! Luego de visitar unas muestras de arte privadas en Wynwood, me fui a dos de mis carpas favoritas, Pulse y Context, para una tarde-noche maravillosa de más arte bello y conmovedor (fotos de los cuales ya posteé en otra entrada).
fue en una colectiva en White´s Art Gallery, propiedad de Jenirée Blanco, una famosa y reconocida reportera de televisiòn venezolana. La exposiciòn durò 5 semanas. La calidad de las obras fue heterogénea y mis obras sobresalìan por ser mucho màs modernas y contemporàneas. Aprendì que tengo que ser màs crìtica a la hora de escoger donde exponer...
